Back Porch Memories

We're closing on our house tomorrow (yay!) and have several painters and carpet people coming over to give us estimates. I also need to slap some paint choices on the wall and make up my mind I'm scared I'll make the wrong choice and hate it!

We're also going to clean the house from top to bottom.

And we have to move out of our corporate apartment on Monday, so we're going to take some things we brought here over to the house. And then check into a hotel for a week until our movers bring the rest of our stuff that next week.

we have nothing planned other than picking out our granite slab for the house. There are a bunch of good movies coming out this weekend and we may go see one.

We're painting and moving! Brian's office is coming back to the house, so I'm shifting my desk to our master bedroom which is in the process of being painted. The ceilings are done and I'm on the home stretch of cutting in the corners. Then we're ready to roll! We're also putting new shelving in the closet. And once that's done, I'll get going on my challenge and early layouts. (Just so you know, the June kits are ADORABLE!) This long weekend couldn't have come at a better time!

Rochelle, what kind of granite did you pick? I am so excited that our new house has a really pretty granite in the kitchen! I've never had granite in any of our houses. It's kind of a golden tan with swirls of brown, little specks of white, and even some hints of a dark green in there. The house has white cabinets and it looks really pretty with it (really pulls out those specks of white). I pretty much fell in love with the kitchen and it is why we bought the house Well, that and the schools and the awesome play set in the back for our little man.
